About BASA

The Barbados Aquatic Sports Association (BASA) is the FINA approved governing body for Swimming, Water Polo, Open Water and Artistic Swimming in Barbados. Managed by a Counsel of elected members, BASA promotes the culture of aquatics by creating opportunities for swimmers and coaches of all backgrounds to participate and advance in aquatic sports through clubs, events and learn-to-swim programmes.

History of the Pool

Swimming and Water Polo have been long-standing sports across Barbados, but it wasn’t until the opening of the Aquatic Centre that swimming, water polo and more recently, synchronized swimming were able to rise to new levels. Find out more here.
